November 15-17, 2011
Atlanta, GA
The BACnet International BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group invites manufactures of BACnet products to attend the 2011 Interoperability Workshop at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North Hotel in Atlanta, GA. This is the twelfth annual BACnet Interoperability Workshop and is hosted by BACnet International. This event permits vendors to test their BACnet products in a neutral and friendly environment with BACnet devices from other vendors. Last year more than 98 BACnet engineers representing 35 companies attended the workshop and improved their BACnet implementations and testing methods.
The event will begin on Tuesday afternoon to allow for arrival on Monday and setup Tuesday morning. The testing starts at 12:30 pm and continues through Thursday afternoon.
Registration has closed for the BACnet interoperability testing event of the year!
We hope to see you next year!

Workshop participants should be very familiar with the software and hardware that implements the capabilities being tested and are expected to have a good understanding of the BACnet protocol. The Workshop is only open to active participants.
We can accommodate a maximum of 100 participants for this workshop.
Top
Each company may bring one or two testing teams, with a maximum of two people per team at any particular time. Exceptions may be granted at the discretion of the BTL Manager. If the number of people planning to attend the workshop exceeds the space available, BI Corporate members will have priority.

The purpose of the workshop is to identify interoperability problems in BACnet products and the BACnet Standard, and this requires an environment in which the participants feel comfortable discussing product functionality. Many participants will bring unreleased products, and other participants are expected to respect their privacy. All participants agree to keep confidential for a period of one year any information about other companies’ products obtained primarily as a result of their participation in the workshop. The BTL will collect information on interoperability problems identified during the Workshop, and that information may be discussed among the participants in the BTL’s testing activities for purposes that are consistent with the charter of the BTL. All participants agree that the Workshop is not a forum for discussions related to sales, marketing, business development, distribution, or any related matters.
Each company will receive a non-disclosure agreement for completion prior to the start of PlugFest 2011.

Bring all materials you think would be needed for your testing and connecting to other vendors’ equipment. Some suggested items include Ethernet cables (straight-through and cross), Ethernet hubs, power extension cords, power strips, hand tools, portable oscilloscopes, BACnet protocol analyzers, and BACnet Routers. It is expected that the interconnection of different vendors’ equipment will be done primarily using BACnet/Ethernet or MS/TP, but some vendors will want to test communication using raw Ethernet or PTP. If you do not have a BACnet router or other device that will permit your equipment to connect to a BACnet/Ethernet or BACnet/IP network, please contact the BTL Manager.
