Grant Wichenko
Appin Associates 
Grant Wichenko is President of Appin Associates, a Mechanical Engineering firm that specializes in designing and specifying BACnet based BASs. Mr. Wichenko is a voting member of SSPC 135, the BACnet Committee and SGPC 13, the BAS Specification Committee. He is chair of the Application Profile Working Group. He is a non voting member of SPC 201P, the Facility SmartGrid Information Model (FSGIM) Committee.

 Varun joined Sierra Monitor Corporation in July 2014, from Echelon Corporation (ELON) where he was senior vice president and general manager of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) division. Previously, he served as president and chief executive officer of NetContinuum, a leading provider of Web Application Firewalls, acquired by Barracuda Networks (CUDA) in 2007. Varun served as vice president of product development and marketing for Extreme Networks (EXTR) during their transition from proprietary to merchant silicon; and as executive vice president of marketing and customer delivery for Ellacoya Networks. Varun worked for PRTM, a leading management consulting firm focused on product and operations strategy, from 1995 to 2001 in various positions including associate, manager, principal and partner. He started his career in 1988 at Hewlett Packard as an engineer. Varun received his Electrical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay; a Master of Science degree from North Carolina State University; and his Master of Business Administration degree from Boston University.

Edward Nugent BACnet International  Ed Nugent is the Chief Operating Officer of PcVue Inc. of Woburn, MA, a supplier of BACnet Advanced Work Stations. Ed has 35 years’ experience in development and implementation of software for automation. In April, he introduced Contextual Mobility for the first time at the BACnet Roadshow in Seattle. He was the recipient of the Silver Scribe Award by the Energy and Telecommunications organization for his work in Houston. He is an alumni of the University of Wisconsin, College of Engineering and the University of Puget Sound where he earned his MBA. Ed is active in several professional organizations including BACNet New England Users Group, the DNP3 Users Group, the SMART Grid Interoperability Forum, IEEE and the International Society for Automation.

He wrote an open source BACnet Protocol Stack hosted on, and continues to help maintain the BACnet decoder in Wireshark
