BACnet International relies on member volunteers to advance the organization's mission of encouraging the use of BACnet technology in building automation and control systems through interoperability testing, education programs and promotional activities. BACnet International appreciates its volunteers tremendously and welcomes the participation of new members looking for ways to contribute to the organization.

MARKETING COMMITTEE

The Marketing Committee's purpose is to encourage the adoption and use of BACnet in building automation and control systems through marketing, social media, trade shows, publications and other promotional activities. Committee volunteers should be from a BACnet International member company of at least Silver level membership. Committee responsibilities include:
  1. Identifying and categorizing externally available materials and training/education resources, and publishing these resources on the BACnet International website with ongoing maintenance;
  2. Defining, developing and sponsoring educational and training materials and events;
  3. Educating people about what BACnet is and what the protocol can do for them;
  4. Developing and deploying an Internet-based "ask the expert" forum;
  5. Developing and establishing a system integrator certification program;
  6. Developing recommendations about target markets, tools and methods; and
  7. Recruiting interested and competent experts and users who may contribute to accomplishing these tasks.

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The Education Committee's purpose is to develop and promote eduation and training materials to help inform the public and industry professionals about BACnet and its application. Committee responsibilities include:

BTL WORKING GROUP (BTL-WG)

The BACnet Testing Laboratories Working Group (BTL-WG) provides oversight and guidance to the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL). The BTL is responsible for the technical aspects of BACnet International's testing and listing activities, the central goal of which is to imrpove BACnet interoperability, between building authomation products.
